Short 5

She looked at him with emptiness in her eyes, he didn't speak a word. She didn't know he would betray her for another woman. He said he loved her and would never leave her then why is that today her lifeless eyes are questioning this man standing next to her in her wedding picture? Her last words spoke of her pain "I see it dying every single day.... I am suffering as I see our love dying in front of my eyes..." And then bang she pulled the trigger at her head.

Short 4

She sat there in silence .... While he kept looking at her numb eyes, he didn't know how to console this broken heart. He loved her the most but today she sat there in a corner and wept and it was because of him.... He wished he hadn't pulled the trigger at himself.... A Lil bit of courage and his lover wouldn't have been this unhappy.... Alas some decisions kill others.

Short 3

They drove miles together in silence, he hadnt touched her in a while. She kept looking at him begging him to look at her just once... She gleamed... He looked away, she giggled, he ignored.... They continued to drive till the fresh air reminded him of home...and then he lifted her and said "HELLO"

Short 2

They lay under that mango tree reminiscing yesteryear ... Time let them be together once again and they chose to be alone all by themselves to relive every moment they cherished. She had baked his favorite cake...so much had changed yet everything seemed just the same like it had always been. She left him for another man... Tears fled as they both hugged each other and she those magical words he yearned to hear from her " I love u dad and am never going to leave u ever again".... Underneath the mango tree a father missed his daughter....

Short 1

I lay next to him and breathed him. His eyes, his hair, his skin...he was perfect. I had never felt this right before. I kept looking at him and paused the minute I saw my hubby at the door. Hubby didn't say anything.. Nothing at all....how am I supposed to know what's going on in his mind as he saw me fall in love with the boy lying next to me.
My husband came closer, with a sharp look and then what followed teared me up...
He bent down kissed me and hugged the boy on the bed and said "I love u both".... Our baby boy smiled back...

I will be there

Life seems to be tumbling down?
You run without no clue
Just hold on for a while there
Your prayers will come true...

Swollen eyes and dried up tears
will give you strength to go on
Just try again once more
and you will move on

When darkness shadows your trust
You fear whatever you do
Don't you worry my friend
I will always be there with you

Her last breath

As she breathed her last few breaths
she thought of yesteryear's torn apart
her dreams that were left unfulfilled
lay scattered in the aches of her heart.

A young and ambitious lady she was
now saving her last few breaths
to ask "Him" why didn't he give a ear
at the time she pained to death.

"You are useless" you are lousy" "Oh you witch"
Words resonated her haunted soul
The thought of her loved ones crying coz of her
drilled a big black ugly hole

All her life she cursed herself
for what she never was
all it took was a trigger shot
to end her ailing cause.

These are a few of my favorite things

Nature in all its splendors – the rising sun and its orange glow , the full moon and how it peeps out from behind a cloud spreading its light into all the dark corners, the waves rolling in on a beach, the first rain (the 2nd and the 3rd one too), the chirping of the birds at early dawn.
Animals - Dogs, Cats, Elephants, Fox and all other wild and domesticated animals and their kids, White Doves, Pigeon, Peacocks and all birds.
Fragrances – The smell of my mother’s cooking, perfumes and scents with a hint of pine, musk and woody fragrances, The smell of the earth after a first shower.
Food – I am a foodie and enjoy mostly everything …from Delhi Street Food to Italian, Chinese and Thai. Once in a way, I love to indulge in plain junk food. The pakodas  my Mom makes, the ghee roast my Mom (in-law) makes, the halva Pa makes and the Chinese aloo Dad(in-law) makes and yes just about everything my brother makes is just out of this world.

What is love?

A very simple question, as simple as it sounds... What is Love?...
I typed the word Love in one of the search engines and found images of hearts, teddy bears, a boy and  a girl holding hands... and I asked myself seriously is that what Love is?
What about the love our parents give us? the love we share with our siblings? the immense love our pet gives us? and many more...Love for food, music,Friends....God....

Why cant we have a definite definition for the word Love?

Today when I look around, I see so much mistrust and hatred, fear in the eyes of people to be loved or trusted... where are we heading to?

Umpteen number of questions, many of us think about at least once but answer to those none of us have....

So just once, lets stop searching for answers and do our bit, spread smiles, help a hand in need, wipe  a tear, be a friend to someone who really needs company... for once forget the word 'Mean' and be the one to define what love actually is....

Love.... is in the smile of a person you feed, who hasn't seen food in a very long time
Love... is in keeping your environment friendly for others, for them to breathe healthy
Love... is in spending time with all those abandoned strays, who wouldn't be called strays if they had a home, a place where they would be loved and pampered.
Love... is inside us in all that we do..for ourselves and for others.

Love is a universal language...so lets all communicate with each other in this beautiful language and make our existence felt and worthwhile.

Lucile Gray

It was a very still night. Half a moon shone brightly on a clear cloudless night

59 Elm Street ran straight past the cemetery disappearing at the corner of a tree.

A lone figure stepped out of a shop and started her journey back home. The

click clack of her heels ricocheted on the empty road as she walked towards

Oak Avenue. As she reached the cemetery, she stopped for a while and then

entered the rusty half open gate. The cemetery was cold, dark and unkempt..

The click clack suddenly stopped as she was walking on a grass covered

path. The moonlight shone on the empty tomb stones scattered here and

there . She waded her way through the tall uncut grass and moved towards a

withered willow stretching its gnarly arms up towards the night sky. As she

reached the tree she removed her coat and scarf and hung them on a low

branch curling towards her. She stepped on the other side and there lay a

tombstone. She got down and gently cleaned the surface of the tomb

sweeping off the dead leaves and twigs. She looked down at the name

carved at the head LUCILE GRAY and a shadow of sadness quickly flitted

across her face. She knocked thrice on the tomb stone and waited. Suddenly

the stone began sliding to the side exposing an empty cavern. She stood up

and stepped inside slowly moving down...down...down... and disappearing

into the dark cavern. The tomb stone slowly slid back shutting the open

cavern. A gentle breeze brought back on its surface the dead leaves, twigs

and dust that had just been brushed off. The coat and scarf that had been

hanging on the willow branch just a while ago, was no longer

there..................

It was a very still night. Half a moon shone brightly casting shadows on 59

Elm Street running straight past the cemetery and disappearing at the corner

of Oak Avenue.
